Thom Browne is an American fashion designer and on below are the photos of his collections in New York Fashion week Spring/Summer 2014 which his themes are based on the 'Elizabethans clown'. I found the styles very interesting and chic but it also scare me a bit. (-_-)'

The makeup looks are definitely related to the Elizabethans as it features the white skin, red lips and also light and thin eyebrows. It looks like a modern Elizabethans for me because of the heavy eye makeup and the bold red smudged lips which gives a more creepy look. The collar on the image above reminds me of the ruff that the Elizabethans wore although it is not around the whole neck.
The looks also features frizzy and big hairstyles which links to the Elizabethans. I like how the hairstyles look messy, highlight with white colour and it adds a more modern and crazy effects to the whole styles. For the hair design, the models also got a caul attached to their hair and a caul is one of the main headdresses Elizabethans wore at that period of time. The caul also attached and decorated with pearls on the models which also links to women in Elizabethan era as pearls symbolised purity and virginity.
