Val Garland

Val Garland is a makeup artist working in London and I'm really appreciated by what she said on below.

Val Garland
“I’m not afraid; I don’t mind if I’m wrong. I was a skinhead, a punk, and a New Romantic – I belonged to so many different tribes when I was growing up. I’ve always been a rebel, so if something’s wrong then I’m going to like it. There’s something about England that makes you not afraid to take a risk.”
She worked on Alexander McQueen's early collections and is now working for Vivienne Westwood at the backstage. She worked with many famous models and celebrities such as Kate Moss and Taylor Swift, etc. On below is a makeup look Val Garland created and it is inspired by the look which she has done for London based designer Mary Katrantzou's AW14 runway show.

On this makeup look, Garland has used the products from M.A.C.She created many freckles all over the face and I like how she created a more real look and include the freckles in a fashion photography rather than cover up the imperfections on the face. She has dyed the eyebrows blonde and I like the red lips and the natural russet colour on the cheeks which makes the whole makeup look more feminine and fresh.

This is another makeup look that Val Garland did Vivienne Westwood's makeup for M.A.C. I like this makeup look because it attracts me by the use of colours on the eyes. I also like how the white complexion stands out the orange, red, gold and purple colours on the face and create colour contrasts within the makeup look.
